The Mirror
Victoria looked through the rain-streaked window at the street below. The raindrops seemed to magically dance in time with their sibling’s pitter-patter beat on the windowpane. She smiled and gave herself a slight hug. How she loved the rain. It made her feel so full of energy and filled with excitement, unlike many of her friends who only felt sad and depressed when it rained. To her the rain always brought great adventure in some form whether real or just in her imagination as she put her pen to paper. Sighing wistfully she turned and made her way across the soft lush carpeting to the large dressing table on the opposite side of the room. She slowly ran her fingers across the varnished golden oak as she sat down on the blue velvet chair.
Oh how she longed for his touch again. To feel his strong hands gently guiding the brush through her hair, his fingertips leisurely massaging her temples and scalp. Leaning her head forward she brushed her hair over her head and the faint aroma of his musk made her senses reel. Stopping her brush in mid stroke she slowly raised her head peering into the mirror through the glistening stands that half hid her face and her breath caught in her chest as she saw the reflection of him standing in her doorway. She continued to watch him as he moved towards her. Her heartbeat increasing with each step that brought him closer. Her eyes locked with his brilliant blue ones and there was that twinkling look of wonder as he took in her beauty that she remembered so well. From behind he moved her hair to one side and softly kissed the back of her neck while his hands untied the ribbon holding her robe closed and with continuing motions pulled the robe back off her shoulders.
She could feel his warm breath on her bare skin as he encouraged her to stand without one word spoken causing the robe to slide to the floor. She closed her eyes as his hands left a hot trail down her arms to her fingertips. Slowly he raised her hands to her breasts and she opened her eyes to gaze at him again through the lingering strands of hair that still fell across her face. It was then that she came to the full understanding of what he desired.
